Quiet motorsport brings different dangers into play. Riders must be fully aware that the general public, spectators and other riders will not hear you coming. It’s a rider’s responsibility to draw attention to your proximity.
As a member you and your attendees must abide by the stipulations listed below.
As annoying as rules can be, motorsport is dangerous and to legally run and attend an event they must be followed for reasons of safety towards others and yourself.
Event officials and E-Trials Sussex reserve the right to exclude any person from the grounds and an event without refund of costs or entry fees for failing to abide by these rules.
All competitors must abide by the rules set out by the AMCA and or the ACU permit as per the event. These can be found on the AMCA and ACU websites
The prefix club is used to describe the club E-Trials Sussex and its membership.
The club reserves the right to change, amend or add rules as and when required.
The club has a zero tolerance policy to any form of violence or offensive language during an event towards an official, another competitor or attendee. Basically everyone there…..
In the unlikely event that the club decides to refuse or cancel membership of a person or persons for any reason known to them, it can do so without prior warning.
The club shall set out a course for each event and this is the boundary for our permissions on the land. Paying for entry is to ride the course. Not a licence to freely explore areas we do not have the landowners permission to ride.
The club shall set scoring areas on the course for riders that will be numbered and clearly marked.
The club shall define scoring sections “route” with coloured flags.
Yellow route for Beginners. Red route for Club level. Blue route for Intermediate. White for Expert.
All riders must wear a motorcycle helmet when riding.
All entrants must display a riding number on the front of their machine during practice and competition.
All riding in the parking and unloading area will be confined to a modest pace and on 2 wheels. Warm up hops, wheelies and showboating is not allowed. The parking and unloading area is not a practice arena. Infringements will lead to exclusion from the event.
Warm ups and pre-event practice are not permitted in or around the scoring sections.
Be aware of your surroundings and others when riding an E-Trials bike, verbal warnings as you approach from behind walkers or cyclists is recommended.
Visitors and spectators are welcome in the competition area at most venues. Restrictions on pets may vary due to venue and landowners restrictions and at the very least must be under control.
If as a club member you have family or friends visiting with young children, please advise them for their safety they should be kept close and under supervision at all times. Quiet motorsport is dangerous.
Non club members / spectators are not permitted into the riding / scoring sections other than for a medical emergency.
Pedal cycles and E cycles are permitted inside the competition area and do not require to be signed onto the event. They must be parked away from paths, section starts and finish, so as not to be a danger to or impede the riding or parking of an event rider or their machine.
No attendees or rider is permitted to impede a scoring or non scoring rider.
There may be public access to the land we are using, they will have rights to be on the land and will not want to be put in danger from motorcyclists. Competitors must slow to pass any person or persons.
There may be animals on the land we are using and as such should be treated with care and distance.
There may be horse riders on the land we use. Please make the horse rider aware and slow to pass.
During a scoring event / round no petrol motorcycles are permitted on the grounds other than visitors machines that must stay in the parking area.
Anyone riding an E motorcycle in the competition area must be signed on and a paid entrant.
Parents / Guardians, spotters and entrants are not permitted to take or ride pillion.
At open and non scoring practice days any motorcycle can only be ridden by a signed on and paid rider.
If for any reason a motorcycle is shared each rider must display a rider number, be signed on and paid up at any form of event.
Follow the marked course. If you are asked by an official to start the event at a point other than Section 1, you will be advised of the route to get to your starting point.
On or before an event the course direction clockwise or anti clockwise will be indicated. Riding the course or sections in the opposing directions is not safe practice and may lead to event exclusion.
No riding practice of any scoring section is permitted. Any section practice will render your score card null and void, and exclusion from the results.
At a club scoring event scoring and non scoring entrants are permitted to one atempt of a section in section number order, no impeding of riders will be permitted.
Non riding club members are permitted into the sections to spot/guardian and aid junior riding members.
All riders and non riders must be current members of the club or affiliated through another E-Trials club. If an event has restricted entry numbers, priority is given to E-Trials Sussex members.
Observers unless invited by the organisers must hold a current club riding or non riding membership, or affiliated from another Etials club.
Only club officials and working parties are permitted to ride in the competition area prior to the event start.
Riders and spotters are allowed to walk the sections prior to the event start.
It is the joint responsibility of the rider and any person walking a section to be aware of your surroundings and the dangers of silent motorcycles. Audible signalling from a rider is paramount. If an official is present a whistle will be sounded to indicate a rider is about to enter the section.
It is a riders responsibility to announce their route as they approach riders walking a section.
Riders are advised to walk a section before riding, but must not impede another rider.
If an assigned observer is present they are the club official on that section and their instructions and score given is final.
Competitors, spotters, parents / guardians must defer to an official’s instructions and or score.
No tampering or adjustment of the scoring sections by a rider or parent / guardian is permitted.
Sections may be adjusted by officials at a rider request for an applicable reason once all riders have passed.
The club may have a representative photographer or media team. These officials are insured to be in a scoring section. Public video and photographing can only be at a distance outside the scoring area.
If a person or person feels they are unhappy with posted or even filmed media the person holding the files or images will be asked to delete them.
